Silver Mountain Mines

On the north shore of the Silver River is a large mountain rich in silver and other rare metallic ores. Shortly after the founding of Silvermere, prospectors discovered the wealth of the mountain could provide for a great army and wealthy citizenry.

After several hundred years of power and prosperity, a dark sect managed to infiltrate the miner’s operations and place a curse on the entrance. This curse transported all those who entered to a labyrinthine maze populated by ghosts, zombie minotaurs, and other unnatural creatures. Cultists were rumored to venture in to the labyrinth as part of some sort of sacrificial rites, but those who attempted to explore the maze rarely returned. Those who did were often stricken by madness.

For hundreds of years, the mines sat empty and Silvermere descended to poverty.

Until recently, that is, as a new group of relatively unknown adventurers has solved the maze’s puzzles and survived its traps. Upon slaying a large beast of stone and the champion of the minotaurs, these heroes were able to undo the enchantments that had kept the mines cursed.
